Alydom Racing

Growing up in NY I have been going to the racetrack for as long as I can remember. My father and grandfather would take me every weekend to Aqueduct or Belmont Park. The pageantry of the game is what got me first. The jockey silks. The owners in the paddock talking to the trainer and jockey. The whole racing scene had me hooked from the beginning. I also knew that the Sport of Kings was an expensive game that I could never actually be a part of. Or could we...

In 1999 I met Ken and Mary Gray who owned racehorses at Fairmount Park. They invited me to take a small piece of a horse. I bought 10% of a $3000 claimer named Trax trained by Eddie Essenpreis. Cost me $300! On a cold and rainy night at Fairmount Park with probably 200 fans in attendance we won our first race ever. (see pic above) It was a $3000 claiming race. To me, it might as well have been the Kentucky Derby! I knew at that point you didn't need to own 100% of a racehorse to feel the thrill...and Alydom was born.

Moved to Vegas in 2006 and started Alydom Racing at Santa Anita Park in 2017. Primary trainer was Andrew Lerner. We also used George Papapadramou, Jonathan Wong, Dean Pederson, Genaro Vallejo and still have a piece of a horse with Phil D'Amato. We would keep the stable active with between 3-5 horses to assure there was always something going on. We had 44 partners in the Cali syndicate.

In 2023, my wife Susan and I decided to relocate back to St Louis to be closer to family. 2 years later I decided to start up Alydom Racing at my hometown track, Fairmount Park. Did I mention we won our first race? We're back...

We run a straightforward operation. At times it may look a little "mom/pop"...but that's ok. I don't pretend to be the best businessman...but I'll make sure all monies are accounted for and all owners, regardless of what % they own, will have all the information in a timely fashion. We aim to make this experience as fun and memorable for you and your family/friends.
